Cavaliers reach out to Ilgauskas (AP)

Posted on 10 December 2009

In this Jan. 8, 2010, photo, Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, of Lithuania, heads to the bench during the Cavaliers' NBA basketball game against the Denver Nuggets in Denver. An official within the league tells The Associated Press the NBA has not threatened to stop a potential reunion between the Cavaliers and Ilgauskas. The Cavaliers traded their longtime center to Washington last week in the three-team deal that brought Antawn Jamison to Cleveland. The Wizards may decide to buy out Ilgauskas, allowing him to become a free agent.

The Cavaliers are applying full-court pressure to Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Several of the center’s former Cleveland teammates visited him in New York on Tuesday, hoping to persuade him to re-sign with the Cavs and help them make a run at an NBA title. Ilgauskas, who has a place in SoHo, was traded last month to Washington in the deal for forward Antawn Jamison.
